Do we really need The Ten Commandments?
Religion! Ah...there's a word that crashes into a conversation like a Steer on a Segway. Nothing creates more drama, tension, and war than the old 'my imaginary friend is better than your imaginary friend' debate.

The Message of All Religions (and why it's usually ignored)
In this excerpt from Mr. Shelton's forthcoming novel "The Message" (expected relase date, Fall 2009), a humorous insight is posited as to what God has tried to tell us over the last couple millennia, and why we keep screwing it up.

The Agnostic Pulpit: Voting for the Wives
One sharp contrast today in the American election is that between the candidates’ wives. Every day we see television shots of both McCain and Obama giving speeches at rallies all around the country.

Russia to Become Major World Players?
What is the affect of the current political campaign on the relationship with Russia? Where do our candidates stand? Does it really matter who is elected President in United States? These are questions which I hope I can answer or give you a better understanding of. Or maybe let you see it in a different light.

Russia's Attempt to Modernise Defence Forces
Ever since the end of the Cold War, Russia has been looking at modernising its defence structures and equipment but never had the money or the expertise to do so. Now, with greater access to better technology and more money being available through its resources boom, Russia might well be able to substantially modernise and further upgrade its defence forces.

Russia's Credibility in Question
Since the fall of the Soviet Empire, Russia has tried to regain some influence and credibility in a world that does not look kindly upon Russia in terms of its policies and tactics towards former Soviet republics as well towards other nations in general.

Editorial: Democracy the Russian way
After more than a decade of silence Russia has again opened its mouth, spitting in every possible direction to demonstrate they not only still have a voice but also strength - political And military.

The Rise and Rise of The Russian Federation
A defiant attitude to the rest of the world is normal for Russian leaders, and it is popular with its people, and more importantly these days, voters. Booming oil wealth has seen a Russian military resurgence that has alarmed its neighbours and the USA. The recent military intervention in Georgia has sent a reminder to the rest of the world that the Federation is a significant player in world affairs.

A review of the Organisation of Islamic Countries report on Islamophobia
Islamophobia exists but the OIC report is the wrongway of going about it. A phobia is a strong irrational or powerful fear and dislikes of something, in this case, the religion of Islam.

'Osama is a lovely Brother'
Is David Hicks a terrorist just waiting to get out of jail and wreak havoc on his native country or is he a young man easily led into saying the above as he sort adventure? We will soon know, but I'm not quaking in my boots at the thought of him being released into the community where I live.

Using imagery for self motivation and better mental health
First off let me tell you what imagery is. Imagery involves all the senses, visual, kinesthetic, auditory, tactile, and olfactory. It also includes moods and emotions. Imagery involves creating or recreating an experience in your mind.

The Way to Live is to Kill
Young Jesse hated killing, but he had to do it to live.

War of Independence or the Great Mutiny
The 1857 War of Independence or Great Mutiny has been directly seared into the national psyches of many countries and impacted a great many more countries indirectly.

The story of the Islamic Rage boy and other rage boys in the world
Rage is a funny thing in humans, it makes you forget the boundaries of civilised behaviour. You cannot define rage or even what constitutes civilised behaviour.

Summer Flames Review
Summer Flames is an excellent contemporary romance novella written by Vella Munn. What immediately drew me to reading Summer Flames was the title of the book. Seeing the cover added extra spice for me.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.
The shame of abusing our children. IT MUST STOP.

How you judge reform depends upon where you are standing
Three Muslim reformers, but not as the west knows reforms

When you run with the hare and hunt with the hounds, all you manage is to stumble!
Why doesnt Tariq Ramadan get that there is no link between terrorism and foreign policy at all?

Huddled Around Some Laughs!
This article is dedicated to much beloved bald guy: Tom Sobel! Get well soon buddy!

A Drink with the Candidates!
Standing at the bar watching them are a balding New Yorker, a Mormon, some Huckabuck, and one angry Vietnam vet. All are quite wary, as this is the first time they've been in the same room. Slowly, all notice: hanging behind the bar is a huge oil painting of Jeb Bush. It has a long moustache and big eyeglasses crudely drawn on it's face. Everybody smiles!

Getting Ahead in the Freelancing World
Whenever I meet young writers, it always amazes me how much they know. And while I’m mostly impressed, part of me is jealous because I only learned in my late 20s what they already know as sophomores in college. I am sure there are others like me (of all ages) who do not know what college courses might help them in their writing careers or what they can do before they graduate to get ahead of the pack. Of course, there are many directions one can take to get a jump start on freelancing, but these are a few I recently discovered.

Luf at Large 18
During the recent air show at Avalon, near Melbourne in Australia, the pilot of a C27, a modernised G222 troop transport aircraft designed in Italy, did a low level barrel roll. Just as well...

With a grain of piquant salt - High Inflation – the silent killer
Inflation kills the poor and hyperinflation kills the state. Zimbabwe is the latest state whose kleptocratic and incompetent leadership has converted the breadbasket of Africa into the sewer.

Working in England
Most of what I am going to talk about here will concern my part-time job I had with an English online company for pretty much the whole year of 2006. This was one of the most positive experiences in my whole life, so prepare for an enthusiatic article.

The Legendary Feel-Good Machine
Here's my challenge: If you're not happy and want to be so, or if you're happy and want to take steps to remain so, or if you're not sure if you are as happy as you want to be . . . read on. If you're not happy and don't care, stop reading this! These ideas may threaten that miserable attitude you're possessed by now. Go away!

English Politeness and Manners
English people are famous all over the world for their politeness. This article is about my own experience with this phenomenon, and I can only confirm their reputation: the English are the most polite group of people I have ever met.

What Do You Drink?
The following is an account of the observations I made of British people and their attitude towards drinking alcohol.

The Ballad Of Britney
Let’s see, her music is crap, she doesn’t even sing well, her choice in men sucks, she sure can’t act, and that is just the beginning of this corporate manifested robot. But now, my dislike for her has turned to sorrow as Britney continues to spiral downward through the toilet bowl we call life.

Food and eating out
Is British food really as bad as its reputation? Read about my personal experience on this issue HERE.
