U.S. Risk Loosing Conviction of Khalid Sheik Mohammed
If Khalid Sheik Mohammed was indeed responsible for the 9/11 attacks as well as the 'shoe-bomb' attempt, he should be tried in the U.S. proper, not through some illegal tin-pot military process that means nothing.

Cream or Crap? Which pop stars have proven themselves real "talents"?
The dust of the pop music scene of the 90s has settled and now, ten years later, we have clear “winners.” The cream has finally risen to the top with the rest of the fluff and filler falling away.

Talent Found Out West
Shauna Burn's "Every Thought" could have quite a future, if perhaps the singing were a tad different. I listened to the album for two straight weeks until I could sing along to every song just to make sure I'd grasped every little breath the singer had taken. I'm what you could call obsessive about music.

"Outside confidence is king...I am all that you're projecting..." ~Darren Hayes
The Tension and The Spark is Hayes’ second solo album after the breakup of his first, internationally famous, band Savage Garden. Upon doing a little research, I discovered that this album was different from his usual style, but in a good way!

A Message to Garcia 9
By Humberto Rodriguez We read the original article, "A Message To Garcia" in a previous part of this publication. This was reportedly the most reproduced article during the lifetime of an ...

A message to Garcia 8
It was but a short ride from Paralejo to the banks of the eastern side of the river to the town, once a city of 30,000, now a mere village of perhaps 2000. It was surrounded by a row of blockhouses the Spaniards had built on both sides of the stream.

"A Message to Garcia" Part 5 of 8 Having become famous after delivering his message to Garcia, the swift success of the United States in the Spanish-American War and the overwhelming circu...

A message to Garcia 7
Hitherto there had been danger; from this time on there would be more. Spanish troops mercilessly hunted down Cubans and small mercy was shown by the forces directed by Weyler, the "butcher," to men found in arms, or outside the concentration camps, even though they might be unarmed. The remainder of the journey to Garcia was fraught with many dangers and I knew it, but this was no time to consider them; I must be on my way!

A message to Garcia 6
Once aboard the boat I noted that it was partially filled with boulders intended for ballast. Oblong bundles indicated cargo, but not sufficient to impede progress.

A Message to Garcia IV
The article "A Message To Garcia" has the distinction of having been the most reproduced during the lifetime of the author, of any article in the history of the United States. There were 40 million copies printed and it was translated into all written languages.

A Message to Garcia III
Elbert Hubbard wrote the following comment about his Message to Garcia article on December 1st, 1913, telling us the unbelievable circulation reached by such a small inspirational piece.

A Message to Garcia I
Elbert Hubbard wrote the following article in one hour, at home one evening, after discussing with his son Bert over dinner, the merits and identity of the heroes of the Spanish-American War (The Cuban War of Independence). He subsequently used it as filler in the March 1899 issue of the magazine "The Philistine." Hubbard became astonished when requests for reprints began to pour in; the rest as they say, is history!

A Message to Garcia
The article, "A Message to Garcia," had such huge success after its publication in 1899, that it was reproduced forty million times and into all written languages. No small feat at the end of the XIX Century. Notwithstanding its huge success, its message of individualism is mostly frowned upon today and most Americans now alive are not familiar with its contents; the article was not picked up by the history text books in Cuba and therefore, it is little known amongst Cubans also.

INDIE MUSIC: The Bradbury Press/The Front
Finding your way can be a lonely and sad pursuit. We've all been there--some may never leave the relative safety of being lost. It's rare to find music which celebrates this universal search, even as it allows a bit of room for healthy wallowing.

Lives of the Unsigned - Midnight Syndicate
In the more bizarre form of the underground music scene in Brisbane, Australia, a band is attracting audiences to a different style night out. They have some of the funkiest swing and jazz tunes with a hot and vibrant 3-piece horn section and another four creating havoc across the stage. Ultimately, this gives way to some of the most incredibly loud and energetic sounds you have heard! The big man and lead singer, Stuart Fisher, relaxes slightly from his ever so dramatic self and talks about his musical life.

Lives of the Unsigned - Longjetty
From the depths of rock n roll in Ingham, the not-so-thriving music centre of Australia, a band has come out to throw a spanner in the works and show everyone what Wes Day and Tom Robson can do. They are an energy-crazed and incredibly talented couple making up the name of Longjetty, with deeply emotional lyrics and amazingly unique riffs that could only be summed up as rock n roll. At a rare moment, Tom takes time out to talk about life, lyrics, and the loves of his life, Brad and Chad.

Lives of the Unsigned - Genshen
Genshen are an indie-pop band based in Brisbane, Australia, with a passion for their alternative early indie music. They mix together their own quirky blend of cocktails with a shot of their indie influences such as Stereolab, a big dash of the pop connection and just a sprinkle of their sonic, electronic sound as though they had come out of a 70s sci-fi movie. Just give it all a shake and you have the uniqueness and delightfully unusual sound of Genshen. Their live performance is fantastically energetic, showing their passion for the organicness of music and hitting the audience with a feel that no CD could give.
