As I look at my father I reflect
To a time when he would direct
My  sisters & brothers to think
Dream large as he'd wink

As I look at my father I regret
The pain in  his eyes
As he  mentions family ties
The days of use to be's

As I look at my father I no longer see
Statues man, smiling all the  time
On the way out, can't catch up to him
Always with his friends

As I look at my father I see
A man bent over in pain
Limit to  immediate ties
Spends a lot of time alone
