Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and more than 5 million people are currently living with it. In recognition of the disease November has been named the National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month. Companies such as the leading operator of senior living solution in the U.S., Brookdale, are doing their best to help with advancing the research during this month and throughout the year.

"In recognition of Alzheimer's Awareness Month, we are sharing a wide range of resources and information that we hope will make a difference for those living with the disease," said Sara Terry, vice president of Customer Experience for Brookdale.

Here are some more facts and figures to you about Alzheimer's Disease:
- An estimated 5.2 million Americans have Alzheimer's
- The number for people under the age of 65 is around 200,000 people
- Every 68 seconds someone develops AD
- By 2050 it is estimated that more than a million new cases will be diagnosed each year in the U.S.
- It is projected that 450,000 Americans with AD will die in 2013

These are just some numbers to consider and show you the importance of advancing research of the disease.
