The Indonesian courts have found 27-year-old Australian woman Schappelle Corby guilty of smuggling marijuana into Bali today. She was sentenced to 20 years in Indonesian prison and fined $10,500 US.

The decision caused outrage amongst Corby's emotional friends and family.

Australian Prime Minister said he felt sympathy for Corby, but said that Australians must remain calm and accept the Indonesian court's decision.

Prosecutors have announced they will appeal against the leniency of the sentence and ask for the original penalty of life in jail.
