Going Ape

 article about Going Ape
Capuchin monkeys, complete with bulletproof jackets, two way radios and video surveillance cameras, are set to be the next new recruits in an elite SWAT team in Arizona.

The monkeys, after they have been trained to complete simple tasks, are often used to help quadriplegics.  Their small size, light weight and dextrous hands make them an ideal choice for entering small spaces and manipulating awkward or intricate mechanisms.

Complaints are expected from animal rights protesters but Sean Truelove, the officer behind this study, states that no one has ever attacked the reconnaissance robots he builds and he believes that criminals will be so shocked at the sight of the monkeys, the animals will remain unharmed.
