Marburg virus has killed 132 people out of 140 Marburg virus cases. This means that the death rate is more than 94%. Most of the infected people have been from Uige. That's the number as of 31 March.

Within just one day 8 more virus cases were found. On 30 March the number of cases was 132, of which 127 were fatal.

Angola needs all the help they can get. Just yesterday the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory arrived in Uige. WHO has sent another 500kg of personal protective equipment and many other supplies in order to protect the health care staff. So far already 12 health care workers have died because of this virus.

Marburg virus belongs to the same family as the deadly virus Ebola. Right now there is still no vaccine or cure found for this virus.
