The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) received a record number of donations over the weekend. According to the organization's Executive Director Anthony Romero they usually receive around four million dollars a year, but tnow they had received more than $24 million from over 350 000 donations. Average person donated $68.

The huge amounts of donations came in after president Trump's executive order on immigration ban took effect.

In addition to raising $24,164,691 in one weekend (six times the amount of what they usually raise in a year), they signed up 150 000 new members. The membership numbers have been growing since November when Donald Trump was elected president, from roughly 400 000 to over one million.
