David Hicks was repeatedly tortured and mistreated during his illegal five-year detention at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba according to secret CIA and Pentagon documents, statements by US military personnel, interview transcripts held by the UK in relation to a passport application and other Pentagon evidence, including statements from former detainees as well as US military guards.

Evidence has also come to light that the illegal treatment of other detainees at Guantanamo continues on a regular basis.

Secret CIA documents also show that CIA and military mistreatment of detainees commences well prior to detainees arriving at Guantanamo in places such as Egypt, Romania, Iraq and even Thailand and that mistreatment often lasts for years in contravention of International Law as well as US civilian and military laws.

Documents seized from CIA agents show that the orders to contravene international laws and conventions as well as US laws came from the White House and were mostly signed by former Secretary of Defence, Donald Rumsfeld.

Former CIA Director, now Secretary of Defence, Robert Gates, also signed documents, the most recent instruction was by Gates on 11 April 2007 in relation to Iranian agents that were captured in Iraq.

According to evidence seized, both President Bush and Vice-President Cheney have known about and have endorsed past illegal activities and continue to do so.

The evidence proves, beyond reasonable doubt, that the US is engaged in activities that can be described as 'terrorism-related' and that the CIA can, beyond reasonable doubt, be described legitimately as a terrorist organisation.

I normally do not comment on these pages but this time I will. Poor person Truth. You see, I know person Truth. Person Truth comes out with personal attacks on Henk Luf. Not wise person Truth. Two can play that game and I can assure you that I am much better at it than you are. Look very closely in the mirror person Truth. Not a pretty sight hey? You were and you still are a grub, person Truth.

I agree with DB as well as Sorcaress making one observation in relation to 'putting brain into gear'. It is a requirement that there has to be a brain present prior to it being able to put into gear and in the case of Truth, it seems obvious to me that a brain appears to be absent.
I believe that the subject matter put by Mr Luf has become more and more relevant in term of the US and her allies ignoring proper legal processes and if, as a journalist of many years standing, Mr Luf wishes to put his case, he is more than entitled to put it as no doubt he shall regardless of the types of silly comments made people such as Truth. Truth should perhaps get its own house in order first before making comments on the doings of others.

And Truth's ignorance! It is usually wise to check your facts, and put brain into gear, before opening the mouth.

Truth appears not to be willing to recognise the truth. A bit difficult when both the Australian and the US Governments have been avoiding international conventions and laws to suit their own purposes. Truth needs to read more however difficult Truth may find the concept of reading. Truth also needs to accept that journalists such as Mr Luf have their own ways of getting their message out. Mr Luf has been a journalist for many. many years and he has his own ways and means. Truth may not appreciate or even like those ways. That is just the ways things go Truth. Either take it or leave. Personal abuse will get not get you anywhere Truth, it shows up your own lack or class.

    Well, Truth.
So here we have it, another 'head in the sand' halfwit. A real live one. Truth needs to learn that things that go on within the confines of US detention breach all confines of International Law and US laws and that the US will comply with proper international standards and conventions whatever measures that may involve. Perhaps Truth should have a little discussion with those who have been detained for years without charge, those who have been tortured and those who where transported to and from various places of 'interview' illegally. And proof and evidence there is, in large volumes which is more than I can say about some people in the US. Carl Rove can't even find his emails let alone what he said two days ago. Truth may not like my methods of exposing buses. I do not like the methods that Truth appears to support. As for liars? Don't look here sunshine. You have a perfectly good liars sitting in the Oval Office in the White House. I think Truth needs to piss-off and get a life.

Apparently any liar can now call themselves a journalist. You talk about proof. Well, prove it! Publish the "secret" reports and interviews you quote. You can't, because they don't exist. The reason they don't exist is because it never happened. No need to deny something that never happened. But then again, Henk Luf seems to make a habit of making unsubstantiated allegations. People like you disgust me.

Henk Luf says on 2007-04-16 05:05:13 about Hicks
    Hi Reece
The allegations as to torture were there, proof was a little harder to get. Now we have the allegations as well as the proof. In relation to its human rights record, the Bush administration is just another grubby little outfit that is no better than some of better-known human rights abusing Governments in places such as Africa.
    Regards.
    Henk Luf

Yes this checks with information from other sources. The important point is that the US only makes feeble efforts to deny it.
