Karachi, Jan 14 : After having gone through a failed 2007 season, some of the Pakistani cricketers are learnt to have approached Dawat-e-Islami (DI) chief Maulana Ilyas Qadri to have his blessings for a brighter season this year.
DI Sports Committee member Sahil Raza Attari confirmed that Misbah-ul-Haq, Muhammad Hafeez, Faisal Iqbal, Humayun Farhat, and some members of the Pakistan A-team, had met Qadri at his residence, along with Pakistan Sports Board Deputy Director Pervez Mughal.
"The meeting lasted for around 45 minutes, during which Qadri prayed for the players and preached them to offer prayers regularly," the Daily Times quoted Attari as saying.
