A British man was found hiding in his ex-partner's dog kennel after he was banned from contacting her.

James McEvoy, from Sunderland, wasn't allowed to see his former girlfriend after he had previously harassed her. But the woman called police to say that he was on her property and officers found him lurking in the kennel.

McEvoy claimed he had been out drinking that night, and had phoned the woman to see if he could stay at her house. When she said no, he tried to stay with a friend at the house next door. But, when he found the friend was not in, he decided to sleep in the dog kennel instead.
