USG Corporation, company that is also known as United States Gypsum Corporation, a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-performance building products, has signed a four-year agreement with U.S. Olympic Committee and Canadian Olympic Committee to support the U.S. Olympic Team, U.S. Paralympic Team and Canadian Olympic Team over the next four years. The sponsorship will help the athletes during the upcoming Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games in Toronto and the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

USG is the largest wallboard distributor in the U.S. as well as the largest manufacturer of Gypsum products on North America. The company committed to the sponsorship as they feel that USG's core values match perfectly with the values and principles of the Olympic Movement, making the partnership a good way to activate their new brand and tagline "It's Your World. Build It."

"Being associated with The Olympic Movement, which is recognized throughout the world, gives USG broad exposure and appeal as we roll out our new identity," said James S. Metcalf.

The company will be making financial donations as well as offering its expertise and building materials, such as SHEETROCKģ Brand UltraLight Panels Firecodeģ 30 for helping with improvements to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

"In forging a strong and vibrant partnership with USG, we are continuing to foster the development of athletes and coaches. On behalf of the entire Canadian Olympic family, I want to welcome and thank USG for supporting our nation's sporting future," said the President of Canadian Olympic Committee, Marcel Aubut.

The Olympics - a world political force

The Olympics is a contest between countries as well as between athletes. A good result translates to a government supporting sporting heroes and therefore deserves your vote at the next election. It is also about pride, Olympic medals make everyone proud. People who are proud are likely to feel better about leaders who supported their heroes.

Feel The Runnersí Burn

Spring has sprung in NYC. This means outdoor running for me. Itís one of my favorite exercises and I consider it fundamental to any exercise routine.

Madness Gladness

Ah spring, when a young manís fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love, and a middle-aged manís fancy severely turns to thoughts of basketball. College basketball, that is. And Iím not talking about some kiss-your-sister contest like the NIT, Iím talking about the Big Dance, the NCAA Tournament.

A Rejoinder on Cricket

I am inclined to pen this article, having read REECE PEACOCK Ďs piece in the Cheers about the second test match currently in progress in Australia between India and Australia.

Even Perfection has its Faults

You can try to convince me as much as you would like the 2007 Patriots are one of the best teams in sports history. They have arguably the best quarterback in football history, one of the best receiving cores ever, and the sickest mad scientist for a coach ever. I will disagree with the first one.
