LIFE AFTER DEATH
Life after death is an eternal life. The life in which we will never find death again. It is a different life from the life in this world. Many people believe that there is a life after death and many people believe that there is no life after death. If the unbeliever asks the believer for proof of life after death, he cannot give the proof. The believer is not yet dead, therefore he cannot tell the unbeliever of life after death. Even though the believer could be alive after his death, then tell the unbeliever, the unbeliever would consider the believer to be a crazy man.
So, how can we believe the things with no proof of existence?
Many religions say the same about life after death. In Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, God teaches the existence of life after death. It is the place of Heaven and Hell. Heaven is for a good person and Hell is for a bad person. If one believes what God said, he will just believe it. He would not try to find the proof because its out of our capability to find out.
Is it the same as the world where we are now?
Of course not! There is a Heaven thats much more beautiful than the world and a Hell thats much worse than the world. The description of Heaven is shown in some ayat in al-Quran:
Their Lord doth give them glad tidings of a Mercy from Himself, of His good pleasure, and of Gardens for them, wherein are delights that endure (surah at-Taubah ayat 21).
The righteous (will be) amid Gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water). (Their greeting will be): Enter ye here in peace and security. And He shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury; (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity) (surah al-Hijr ayat 45-47).
They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of Peace: And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening (surah Maryam ayat 62).
There are lots of ayat describing how Heaven is. No fighting, no mistakes, no sadness, just happiness in Heaven. Nobody will live in suffering. Their body and soul are so pleasing.
Some description of Hell is shown in the following ayat in al-Quran:
Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, For the transgressors a place of destination: They will dwell therein for ages. Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, A fitting recompense (for them). (surah an-Naba ayat 21-26).
Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? For We have truly made it (Tree of Zaqqum) (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. Then shall their return be to the (blazing) Fire. (surah ash-Shaffaat ayat 62-68).
We will never drink boiling water and eat the fruit of Zaqqum in the world, but the bad person will get them in the Hell. And the worst part, we will never die because of it, because the life after death is an eternal life.
Why does God create life after death?
1. In Islam, life after death is the place where a person accounts for all his deeds in the world. God says in al-Quran surah al-Mumin ayat 17:
That Day will (come when) every soul be requited for what it earned; no injustice will there be that Day, for God is Swift in taking account
and surah at-Taghaabun ayat 9:
The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in God and work righteousness He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein forever: that will be the supreme Achievement.
Even though it is said in al-Quran, the Holy book for Moslem people, the words of God are not only for Moslems but also for all people, no matter what their beliefs. Therefore, all of the people in the world will account for all their deeds after their death. Like Allah swt said in surah at-Taghaabun ayat 7 The Unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgment). Say: Yea, by my Lord, ye shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. And that is easy for God.
2. Heaven and hell will remind the people to do the right things in the world. Doing the right things will not do damage to other people and themselves. Therefore, the peacefulness will appear. God has showed us how to do the right things in al-Quran and Hadits that showed what Mohammad saw.
3. The existence of heaven and hell shows us that we dont do something in vain. If we do a good thing, well get heaven. On the contrary, if we do a bad thing, well get hell. It shows that God appreciates what a person has done in the world.
So, do you believe in the life after death? Its your choice to believe it or not. I have no right to push or to change you to believe it. Its the right of God to change ones heart.
