2008-02-10

I wish I may,

I wish I might,

First star I see tonight.

The end of the year,

The time for new year resolutions,

And taking stock of the past year.

What have I done right?

What have I done wrong?

Have I fulfilled my wishes this year?

Stars are gas,

So will you still wish upon a star?

The new year ushers in new hopes despite the human mentality of realism.

There's something magical about the last day of the old year,

We have a chuckle over some mistakes,

And open our arms and welcome new tidings for a brand new start.

It is a new year with no mistakes made yet,

It is a year when new changes can be made,

We hope for better things and better dreams.

And when we feast and laugh,

Have an excuse for a holiday,

We search our minds and search our hearts.

There are some who sleep at home,

And say it's just any other day,

"There is no need for New Year resolutions," they say.

Yet many have whispers in imaginations that have not yet been realized,

So may all your wishes been answered and fulfilled,

And come ringing true this new year.

Have fun and make merry,

Say a joke and laugh out loud!

Here's cheers to 2008!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
