Hyderabad Half Marathon sees a record participation

Hyderabad, Nov 25 : The fifth edition of Hyderabad 10k and Half Marathon saw a record participation on Sunday.

Out of 34,000 people, who had registered themselves for this run, around 30,000 participated from all walks of life.

In 10K Run, people ran around the great Hussain Sagar Lake and in the 21k Half Marathon they ran all the way to Charminar and back.

"It is a great run. It was a pretty nice run early in the morning and it went off very well. A lot of importance is given to health these days and people would love to get in shape and this is a good opportunity for people to improve their health," said Mahesh, a participant.

Both Indians and foreigners working with MNC (Multinational companies) were seen enjoying the run.

"It is a beautiful morning to run, it was great and the scenery was terrific. Overall, it was a terrific morning," said Bill, a foreigner.

Children were also seen enjoying the run, which was aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle and to bring people together.

The winner of the 10 K run was Vipul Saharia. He won Rs. 70,000 while Henry Ho from Kenya won the half marathon and walked away with Rs. 1.2 lakh. (ANI)
