WHY ARE WE IN IRAQ?

Article by
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

I am not a great source of political information but I do love words.  Now when I want to understand a word I will look it up in the dictionary.  I figured if I am going to understand why we want Iraq to be just like us, America, I need to know just what that means.  Especially since ir requires human sacrifices to bring it about.

Looking up democracy, I found several sources defining democracy and each had one common theme which I found to be interesting.  Democracy's bottom line was summed up in these words:  "Ruled by the people" I was confused.  Where am I?  I am not in the Land of Ruled by the people".  Instead I am in America, a country ruled by the few, rich and greedy people who rule over us and take from its people whatever it wants and when it wants.

So now I am balanced again, I am still faced with "Why are we in Iraq?  We are there to establish a democracy for the people to be free?  What is wrong with this picture? I am reminded of an Iraqi elderly woman crying and sharing these words.  Before the invasion of America, we were a country ruled by one man secured but not free.  Now, we are not secured or free.  They contended with one demon but now there are many.  By the time it is all said and done, we will have to face the fact; we in fact gave Iraq exactly what we have.  The only difference is we are in denial of what that means.

Who would admit we are a country unstable in its efforts to create an environment of justice and equality?  Who would admit we live in terror daily as many people are murdered and victimized by the hands of other humans?  And who would admit, we lack the ability to create a safe world for our children?  Before we attempt to remove the speck from someone else's eye, we need to remove the beams in our own eyes.

Now, tell me again, why are we in Iraq?

Columnists for twelve years for Frost Illustrated Newspaper. I was their Spiritual Columnist with a twist of philosophy.

Linda D. Wattley is a published writer who began her first work of art with poetry. The poem, “I Wish” appeared in the Poetry Gems of the American Poets Society. For over twelve years she had her own religious/philosophical column in the Frosted Illustrated Newspaper titled: The Best Will Show Themselves. In her weekly column, Wattley shared a unique voice revealing her understanding of the heart of God. Heading into her thirteenth year of writing, she realized God had imparted a message to her that she must share with the world. In the beginning, this message was founded on love and God’s desire that His people knew Him individually and wholeheartedly. Wattley established her spiritual foundation based on Mat 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. With this in mind, she acquired knowledge pertaining to God and spiritual matters by reading over a thousand books and counting. Along with this personal search of knowledge, she attended the University of Akron studying courses in Psychology, Sociology and Writing. Her greatest accomplishment is her satisfaction of knowing she followed the Word of God. Wattley has appeared as a contributed writer for the online magazines including: FaithWriters, The Wright Side of Me Productions, The Blessed Room and Cheers where she shares inspirational and thought provoking messages to readers. She is also a contributing author of upcoming anthologies: The Triumph of My Soul edited by Elissa Gabriel and This Far by Faith with Vanessa Miller as editor. Linda Wattley heartfelt desire is to use her gifts and talents to assist in the healing process of victims who have experienced all forms of abuse. She is presenting The Healing Trilogy: Something about an Angel, Deeper rhan Love and This Thing Called Love. This series is for those who have been abused and those who love them and would like to understand the soulful altering experience. She has also poured her heart into two self-help books that promises to bless the hearts and minds of readers who seek spiritual renewal and understanding of the heart and mind of God. LAST DAY OF VICTIMIZATION is a tool for every living soul facing the evils of the world as innocent victims. I KNOW MIXED SIGNALS reveals the truth about molestation and the secrets about it the world does not want us to know. You can look forward to her writing about spiritual truths and everyday life experiences ranging from current events to love, sex, relationships and religious views pertaining to scriptures.
