Tehran, Dec 17 : India's Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon held discussions with Saeed Jalili, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, on the issue of expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation and security.
Menon also conveyed to Jalili that India is enhancing strategic ties with all countries in the region, and the bilateral cooperation between New Delhi and Tehran is important for the stability in the region.
Jalili has said that expansion of bilateral cooperation would lead to upgrading their capacity for developing multilateral cooperation with India.
On Sunday, Menon had said that only the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should investigate Iran's nuclear case.
Menon told Head of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi that peaceful nuclear activities are absolute rights of Iran.
He said his government supports Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy.
"No country can put pressure on Iran in that respect," IRNA quoted Menon, as saying. (ANI)
