Prince Ferfried von Hohenzollern, son of HH Friedrich, Prince of Hohenzollern, was handed the sentence after failing to pay his lawyer and must return from England to Germany to serve the community order.
A German prince, descended from the last Kaiser, has been sentenced to 150 hours of community service.

Prince Ferfried von Hohenzollern, son of HH Friedrich, Prince of Hohenzollern, was handed the sentence after failing to pay his lawyer and must return from England to Germany to serve the community order.

Known by the nickname ‘Foffi the Party Prince’, 64-year-old Hohenzollern was taken to court in Berlin by his lawyer for failing to pay £1,200 in legal fees. The prince accepted the sentence and chose to serve his sentence in a retirement home.

Hohenzollern caused controversy in 2004 when he left his wife for 36-year-old Tatjana Gsell, widow of a plastic surgeon and a former winner of a German edition of Big Brother. The couple have previously been dubbed ‘Germany’s most embarrassing couple’.

Prince Hohenzollern has recently been declared insolvent and is expected to ask his insolvency administrator to pay for the air ticket from England to Berlin in order to fulfil his sentence.
