Scientists from the University of Sheffield in the UK are to present a breakthrough in stem cells in Copenhagen to show how they can be used to allow infertile and homosexual couples to conceive.

They found that the stem cells can be used to create eggs and sperm.

Although the scientists haven't actually created them yet they are presenting the information to show that they are on the right lines.

The methods can also be used to investigate the sexual organs and what pollutants can affect them

Thanks to the research infertile couples will be able to have children. The theory for homesexual couples to have children is by swapping the DNA in the egg for that of one of the men, then fertilised by his partner. The baby would then have to be carried by a surrogate mother.
