The Chilean army rescued 112 soldiers who had been missing, from a snowstorm that killed 16 of their comrades. Earlier, over 40 soldiers were feared dead.
29 soldiers have still not been found, and the chances of finding them do not seem to be good, due to extreme weather conditions.
The soldiers were on a training excercise in the high Andes, when they were caught in a blizzard. The tragedy has provoked critisism of the army.
