British people buy more albums per person than people from any other country. Independent of the decrease in Music Sales in many other countries, music sales in the UK are still booming.

British Phonographic Industry's annual research found that the average Brit bought 3.2 CDs last year. The same number for US was 2.8, Germans 2.2 and French 2.1.

In Britain, 55% of people in ages 12 - 74 bought at least one album.

The sales boom in Britain is mainly caused by Scissor Sisters, Hopes, Robbie Williams, Maroon 5 and Katie Melua.

It is believed that Britain is currently going through a golden age of music business.
