Astronomers have seen the dim light coming from planets orbiting stars outside our solar system. Indepentent of the fact that the new planets that they found now are actually too hot to support life, this discovery gives more reason for us to search other planets from distance that could support life.

The light was detected by Spitzer Space Telescope which was launched by NASA in August 2003.

Before yesterday's discovery scientists had only indirect evidence about these planets that are hundreds of light years away from us.
