Yesterday there was a rather strong earhquake with a magnitude of 7.0 in southern Japan leaving one dead and hundreds injured.

The earhquake was followed by about 100 aftershocks according to the data of Meteorological Agency.

The earthquake was most powerful in Genkai island, near the earthquake's epicentre. All of the island's 750 residents were evacuated.

Coming from recent experience, after the beginning of the shaking, the Meteorological Agency warned that there might be a tsunami. However, (fortunately?) this was not true.
