2007 Afrocentric Book Expo

In celebration of Black History Month, the Black Writers' Guild.MD, PG Chapter, presents the 2007

. It will take place in the Mall at Prince Georges located at 3500 East West Highway, (Route 410) Hyattsville, MD 20782 on February 24, 2007 from 10am-5pm. The Mistress of Ceremonies is Ms. Valerie Coleman with Butterfly Press,LLC.

 

Now in its fourth year, the Black Writers' Guild, MD -- Prince George's Chapter will showcase African-American literary talent.

About Ms. Judine Slaughter, Executive Director, The Black Writers’ Guild, MD – PG Chapter 

 

Ms. Judine Bishop Slaughter is the content owner for the Express Yourself Books web site. She has a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management, and was nominated into Who's Who for Students in American Colleges and Universities. She is also a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society.  Ms. Slaughter has successfully organized the Black Writers' Guild, MD -- Prince George's Chapter for the last three years, by inviting writers and authors to present their expertise on publishing. She uses her expertise as a Competent Toastmaster, book reviewer, book publisher, and author of “Clear Skinned” to promote writers of African descent.  For more information about her, visit www.eybooks.org

Afrika Midnight Asha Abney is a Native Washingtonian, freelance poet, freelance writer, former host and events coordinator, author of Dancers In The Wind (a re-released self publication poetry book), Voices of Tomorrow (a re-released self - published poetry publication that is divided into four sections, 9-11, Anthrax, Sniper Shooting and War),and Balanced Heart (a self published poetry book). She also is the author of Momma's Journey (a collection of short poems about motherhood).
