The Business of Christmas is 100% out of control. Stores around here started stocking Christmas decorations before Halloween.
Radio stations started playing non-stop Christmas music before Thanksgiving.
Families spent November mapping out their Thanksgiving evening… which is now filled with shopping rather than quality family time.
When did the business of Christmas become such a joke? |

Not a fan of Christmas As a person who works in the retail industry, I await Christmas with a feeling of dread. Many sources state that businesses, especially small retail stores, receive as much as 33-50% of their profits for the year. Involved in a new business venture, I can only hope the next month makes up for several months of unsatisfactory sales. On a personal level, I am not a fan of Christmas. |

Bah Humbug Christmas season is a wonderful time - a time when houses are being decorated with beautiful lights and are warmed by ovens which churn out delightfully baked goods. Televisions are tuned to holiday specials while the phone is kept busy making long distance calls to relatives. Children giggle with excitement as they speak of the fabled old elf and his bag of goodies. They press their noses against the window hoping to catch a glimpse of the jolly fat man and his magical sleigh. Christmas, according to children, never comes soon enough and never lasts long enough. Everything is right with the world...
