Local Taliban in North West Frontier Province (NWFP) have reportedly distributed leaflets warning school-girls and young women to wear burqas and not wander in market areas without a male escort.

They also asked female teachers to strictly observe the 'Islamic dress code' or face punishment.

They said that those found violating their directions would face dire consequences.

The leaflets reading the warnings were posted on the walls of all mosques in the Billaybang area 22 kilometres east of Kohat, the Daily Times quoted a TV report as saying.

The Taliban also threatened that people will face consequences if they tried to remove the leaflets.

In the recent past, the local Taliban have also blown up music shops in the Billaybang area, added the report. (ANI)
