Washington, June 9 : Though the people of Pakistan had 'repudiated' President Pervez Musharraf and his policies in the last general elections, but the PPP still believed in reconciliation and was not planning to "push him out", said the country's ambassador in Washington, Husain Haqqani.

In an interview with CNN, he said that at the same time Musharraf should also show "statesmanship".
Musharraf's future would be decided under the constitution and through parliament, the Daily Times quoted him as saying in the interview.
Over the past few weeks, press reports have suggested that the PPP-led government was planning to bring forth a draft constitutional package entailing constitutional amendments to clip Musharraf's wings, after which he would himself resign to save himself from humiliation.
