Peshawar, May 14 : The NWFP government is learnt to have given in to the demand of the pro-Taliban terrorists in the Swat region of enforcing Shariah - Shari Nizam-e-Adl Regulations 1999 - in Malakand division within a month.

At the end of the second round of talks with the militants last evening, ANP's NWFP president Afrasiab Khattak told journalists that the Taliban's demand for Shariah implementation had been settled.
The two sides decided to extend the ceasefire agreement until the third round of the dialogue, the Daily Times quoted Khattak as saying.
About the possibilities of withdrawal of troops from Swat, Khattak said the issue was discussed during the meeting, but no agreement had been reached. He said the matter might be resolved in the next round of talks.
Taliban representative Ali Bakht told reporters that their delegation was completely satisfied with the progress made in the second round of talks. The Taliban had demanded implementation of Shariah law, the army's withdrawal from Swat, the release of all Taliban prisoners without pre-conditions and compensation for damages to civilians during military operations in Swat.
Asked if the Taliban would lay down arms before troops withdrawal from Swat, Ali Bakht sad: "We have no arms."
