Democrat Senator Hillary Clinton, who is running neck and neck with Barrack Obama for her party's nomination for this year's Presidential poll, has compared herself to underdog boxer Rocky.

Hillary (60) recalled the famous scene in the 1976 Oscar-winning film where Sly Stallone's Rocky races up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
"When it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never give up. I know what it's like to get knocked down. I've never stayed down and never will," The Sun quoted her as saying while speaking on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania.

She, however, did not mention that Rocky actually lost the fight in the film.

The former First Lady said that ending her campaign now would be as if "Rocky Balboa had gotten halfway up those art museum steps and said, 'Well, I guess that's about far enough'."

The ongoing tough battle between Hillary and Obama raises Democrats' fears that a prolonged battle between the two could damage the party's chances of winning the White House in November.

So far, Clinton has won 1501 delegates votes against Obama's 1631.

Mrs Clinton's remarks followed renewed pressure to concede to Barack Obama after the most senior Democrat in Congress said it was vital for the party to unite behind a candidate as early as possible.

Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, said delaying until the party's annual convention in August would hand John McCain, the Republican nominee, a major advantage in the presidential election in November. "It is important for us to get behind one candidate a long time before we go to the Democratic National Convention if we hope to win in November.

At some point it'll be clear that there is a front runner, and at that point we would hope that, for the greater good, for the country, that we can all rally as early as possible behind one person," Pelosi reportedly said. (ANI)
