The meeting was addressed besides others by Mr Sajad Ahmad Dar, Mr Nazir Ahmad Pandit District President, General Secretary Advocate Mir Mohammad Shafi, Mr Bashir Ahmad Pahalwan, Mr Javed Ahmad Kochak, Mir Amanullah Kanth ,General Secretary and senior party leader Mr Muzzaffar Shah. The ANC leaders emphasized the need for the final resolution of the Kashmir Issue on the basis of tripartite talks on equitable terms between the parties to the dispute. They also explained the need for good governance and settlement of the Kashmir dispute within a set time frame. Speaking to the mammoth gathering Mr Muzzaffar Shah promised good governance with no blood shed , upholding of human rights and human dignity, release of all detenues within seven days of forming government, repealing all post 53 laws as a stepping stone for future negotiations on Kashmir. Mr Bashir Ahmad Malla, District President PDF Shupian, Mr Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo General Secretary PDF Kashmir, Mr Ghulam Hassan Reshi District Secretary PDF Shupian, Mr Mohammad Shafi Sofi Distrect President PDF Anantnag joined ANC alongwith hundreds of his workers and affirmed his faith in the unblemished leadership of Mr G.M.Shah, President Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference and have expressed that the only leader capable of taking the nation out of the present turmoil, uncertainty, mayhem and misgovernance is Shah Sahab.
Speaking in the workers rally Mr Muzzaffar Shah reiterated ANC’s stand that Kashmir is a trilateral issue and must be resolved within a set time frame. Intra Kashmir Conference could be an effective means to come to a consensus wherein people from all regions across the line of divide and all regions irrespective of faith shall sit together to thrash out a consensus which could be a possible solution to the Kashmir issue. He said the unemployment in rampant in the state. The youth should be harnessed into a productive force by finding viable non polluting industries with inclusive growth to provide lucrative employment at their place of domicile.
The mis governance of the state has added to the woes and miseries of the people. Before the coalition government took over J & K was ranked the second most corrupt state in India, thanks to the present rulers, the state is ranked number one in corruption.
The Human Rights record of this State is the lowest in the world and it is a big blemish on the democratic face of India.
ANC also demands to know as to who are the people who got the seventy thousand government jobs, their areas of domicile, their MLA’s and their regions. And details of the expenditure of 60,000 crores spent in last five years as claimed by the government . This information is sought under Right to Information Act.
Mr Shah has appealed the workers in particular and the people at large to strengthen the ANC and its Party President Mr Ghulam Mohammad Shah to form the next government to deliver two fold. One settlement of Kashmir issue on the basis of Tripartite negotiations within a set time frame for the permanent resolution of the Kashmir issue and Good Governance, to provide immediate relief to the people of the State and get rid of corruption, nepotism , loot and scandals. Any Party which takes its directions from Delhi, will not be allowed to form the next Government, ANC is a party which belongs to the people of the State, is pro Kashmir and decides its own policies with out any out side dictations. The ANC will very soon come out with a paper and explain why it shall participate in the forth coming elections
