A A British road was closed after 2,000 toads tried to reach their breeding lake.
  The passageway in Llandrindod Wells, Wales, was closed by conservationists, who in past years have witnessed thousands of the amphibians being run over as they attempted to get to the lake where they breed. The conservationists have now introduced a 'Toad Watch' scheme, similar to a 'Neighbourhood Watch' scheme, to stop the creatures being run over in an attempt to help the depleted population rise again.
