China has decided to ban the entry of scantily attired bar maids at this year's Olympics in Beijing.

This order is among many other warnings issued by the Communist Government to ensure legitimate sporting and entertainment activity at all venues connected with the event.

Starting Oct. 1, according to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the rules cover employee dress codes, interior decoration and security facilities.

Besides the list of prohibited activities, the phone numbers of police stations must be posted so that people can report crimes and accidents quickly. The rules also said:

-- Employees must register under their real names.

-- Employees must dress suitably "without offending morals".

-- Transparent parts of doors and windows must be left uncovered, and small rooms should not have any locks or bolts on the door.

-- Dimming lights are forbidden both in main and small rooms and lights may not be turned off during business hours.

-- Closed-circuit TV controls for security checks should be installed at entrances, exits, halls and cashier stations.

-- Venues of up to 200 square meters should have at least two security guards including at least one female, with one added for every additional 200 sq m.

The new rules are based on the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration and Regulations on Management of Entertainment Venues, both of which were put in force in 2006, Xinhua quoted ministry sources, as saying. (ANI)
