A team of Indian journalists is making a goodwill visit to China from July 6.

According to the Embassy of China in New Delhi, the nine-day trip will include visits to Beijing, Xining, Lhasa and Chengdu. An embassy spokesman said that the program is still under modification, and the delegation would be accurately informed of travel plans and visits to each place soon after their arrival in Beijing.

During their stay in Beijing, the Indian media will stay at the Janguo Garden Hotel, while in Lhasa, they will be staying at the Tibet Hotel.

The visit to Beijing will in all probability focus on China's preparations for next month's Olympic Games. It is expected to include visits to the Olympic village and various stadia, besides other landmark sites in the Chinese capital.

In Lhasa, Tibet, the team is expected to be shown how the situation has normalised after the anti-Chinese disturbances between March and May this year. The team will also visit the Nyingchi Prefecture, which lies 400 kilometers east of Lhasa. The visit to Lhasa is expected to be of four days duration.

After Lhasa, the team will head for earthquake-hit Chengdu, where it is expected that they will be briefed about the relief and rehabilitation efforts for survivors.

Thereafter, the team will return to Beijing on July 13. On July 14, the team will undertake a sightseeing tour of the Chinese capital before departing for New Delhi. (ANI)
