New Delhi, July 4 : Dr R. K. Pachauri, Director General, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Chairman IPCC will address the media on July 8 at 12.15 p.m. at the TERI office, India Habitat Centre, here to discuss the recently announced India's National Action Plan on Climate Change.

The ambitious program that outlines eight crucial areas for action balances the ecological needs with those of economic development in order to lleviate poverty. The Plan reiterates India's determination to ensure that it's per capital greenhouse gas emissions will never exceed that of developed countries.

Dr Pachauri will speak on how the plan can be implemented both at the national level and local levels.

With the G-8 summit starting on July 7 in Japan, India's Action Plan's international dimensions and its potential contribution to the global action n climate change assume great relevance and importance as the world grapples with climate change. (ANI)
