Women inmates at Gwalior jail are attending a 45-day yoga training camp that is aimed at developing a positive outlook and good values among them besides enabling everyone to keep a good health in daily life.

The yoga practice aims to teach this group of about 40 women that includes four to five children, various exercises to help them stay calm and inculcate spiritualism in their lives.

The camp started on June 1 and will enable the women inmates to take up yoga as a means of employment after the end of their jail term.

"We noticed these women were having a negative thinking and we wish to motivate them to develop a positive outlook. So, we have started this 45-day training session. Before the training we found lot of negative thoughts in them but after the training the post-test report showed positive results," said Manorama Nikhra, Yoga Instructor.

"There is a mentally challenged lady in the jail. She comes for yoga on her own," she informed.

Meanwhile, the inmates learning yoga are happy to attend the training camp.

" We have been taught many things which benefited us. Our time has even passed in a good way. We enjoyed it. Earlier we had various problems but now they all are cured," Rajjo Bai, an inmate said.

The authorities also have plans to incorporate yoga in their daily routine.
