Moreh (Manipur), March 17: Security posts in Moreh town of Manipur's Chandel District have been put on high alert after Saturday's attack by the suspected militantson an Assam Rifles post.

Moreh (Manipur), March 17: Security posts in Moreh town of Manipur's Chandel District have been put on high alert after Saturday's attack by the suspected militantson an Assam Rifles post.

Random security patrolling has also been intensified to detect the movement of the rebels of Manipur People's Army (MPA), armed wing of United National Liberation Front (UNLF), which attacked the post of 24th Assam Rifles battalion at T Minou village, about five kilometres west of Moreh town.

Two persons were killed in the attack, according to sources.

According to police sources Holkhomang Mate a civilian was killed in crossfire during the ambush and a rifleman Mohammad Hadish was also charred to death.

There are reports of a large number of MPA insurgents presence along the international border, who might strike at the security posts anytime. (ANI)
