James Blunt, Crowded House, Panic! At the Disco and The Gossip are among the acts performing at the three-day event.

British 80s pop star Shakin’ Stevens - who modelled himself on the late Elvis Presley - has been revealed as a surprise opener on the second day of the event.

The main stage headliners were confirmed months ago as Kings of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve.

The line-up for the festival, which takes place over the weekend of June 27-29 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, has already come under fire because of organiser Michael Eavis’ decision to book rapper Jay-Z for the traditionally rock festival.

Jay-Z threatened to pull out because of the criticism, while Oasis star Noel Gallagher said he had “no place” at Glastonbury.

Tickets are still available for the event, in stark contrast to previous years when it has sold out within hours of tickets going on sale.
