Thriller 'No Country for Old Men' and Texan drama 'There Will Be Blood' each received nine nominations, followed closely by 'La Vie en Rose' - a biopic about the French singer Edith Piaf - with seven.'Atonement' leads the way at this year's BAFTAs with a staggering 14 nominations.
The romantic World War II drama is up for Best Film and Best British Film, while stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy are in the running for Best Leading Actress and Best Leading Actor. Joe Wright is hoping to scoop Best Director.

'The Bourne Ultimatum' has been named in six categories, including Best Director for Paul Greengrass, while Ridley Scott's crime drama 'American Gangster' and George Clooney's political drama 'Michael Clayton' both received five nods.
Clooney has been pitted against 'There Will Be Blood' star Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Leading Actor, along with Viggo Mortensen for his performance in 'Eastern Promises' and Ulrich Muhe for his role in 'The Lives of Others'.
Cate Blanchett has been named in both the Best Leading Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for her performances in 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' and Bob Dylan biopic 'I'm Not There' respectively.
Best Film will be contested by 'Atonement', 'American Gangster', 'The Lives of Others, 'No Country for Old Men and 'There Will Be Blood'.
Elsewhere, 'Ratatouille', 'Shrek The Third' and 'The Simpsons Movie' will battle it out in the Best Animated Film category.
The winners of this year's BAFTAs - Orange British Academy Film Awards - will be announced at a ceremony at London's Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on February 10.
