Often, in order for a drunk to start finding help for himself they need to reach the very bottom first. Yet, the number of lives, in addition to their own, they might ruin along the way, is often enormous.
The problem with alcoholism is that many people don’t really consider it a problem. Drinking every day, partying every day, it all seems normal and doesn’t look threatening to many. And in all honesty, often they are right. But in many cases this is not the case.
Each time I stay in my parents place for couple of days I need to take a bus to the nearest town to sit down for a coffee and get some work done with my laptop. I usually take the morning bus at around 9 or 10am. I remember two occasions within the past couple of weeks when I really felt alcohol is a serious problem among many, and in those cases I pretty much know those people should search for some form of Addiction Treatment for themselves. But I know they won’t.
I remember a photographer from a local paper who, within 20 minutes, managed to drink a 2-liter strong beer before he stepped off the bus to go to work. Just yesterday I saw two young people each drinking their own half-a-liter vodka side-by-side with some kind of milk-alike drink (no, I don’t know how these two can be consumed together). Obviously, that can’t be normal.
People like them should definitely look for help. Yet, they definitely won’t, because it was obvious they don’t see a problem themselves. You are smarter than that. If you feel you might have a problem, read some Addiction Treatment Articles here. Jay Gory, The Cheers News
