N New York, May 27 : When it comes to health, American women are more concerned about their diet and weight than developing cancer, according to a new survey.
  The nationwide survey of more than 3,000 women, conducted by Meredith Corporation and NBC Universal, showed that 56 percent of U.S. women are more concerned about their diet and weight than developing cancer, reports the New York Daily News. Only 23 percent said they were worried about the disease, significantly less than those who said they were concerned with eating well, while 20 percent expressed concerns about heart health. While most of Americans are overweight, just 18 percent of women reported worrying about diabetes. The survey showed that despite the reported obsession with diet and weight, only a small percentage of women feel they are the ideal weight. It was also found that most women don't want to work too hard to achieve a healthy lifestyle - thumbing their noses at exercising regularly and counting calories, in favour of simple, less disciplined solutions.
