Britain’s Princess Beatrice is to join Kate Moss on a shopping trip to New York.

The 19-year-old princess is said to have befriended the wild-partying supermodel and Kate, 34, has offered to help her revamp her wardrobe.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Kate has offered to help Bea find some uber hip clothes which will make her feel sexy, feminine and a step ahead in terms of fashion.

“She said she will take Beatrice to New York with her for a long weekend in a couple of weeks to have some serious girlie fun.

“Kate will introduce her to some of the world’s best fashion houses and designers. Shopping with style icon Kate is a dream come true. Bea knows she’ll help her create different looks.

“She is already excited about mixing vintage, second-hand stuff, with high street labels and designer gear.”

The influence of the fashion icon is also thought to have inspired Beatrice to enrol on a textiles course at London’s Goldsmiths College, starting in September.

The source added: “Bea spoke to her about doing a textile course which Kate thought was a great idea.”

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the young princess wants to get rid of her £250,000-a-year, round-the-clock bodyguard.

Beatrice is reportedly looking forward to enjoying more independence when she becomes a student at Goldsmiths, and doesn’t want to have to take Scotland Yard protection officer with her everywhere she goes.

A source told Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper: "Beatrice is upset by all the fuss about having a bodyguard.

"The truth is she is having a tough time coping with having 24/7 Royal protection.

"She has the bodyguard at her father's insistence and has proposed a deal with Prince Andrew that would allow her to do certain things by herself.

"Beatrice says she doesn't need a bodyguard when she's going to a friend's house or when she is on private dates with her boyfriend Dave Clark.

"She basically wants a bit more independence."

The young princess has been dating 25-year-old Dave for over a year. He works in sales and marketing for the Virgin Galactic space programme.
