N New Delhi, Jan 4 : Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has launched a special edition of its Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).Vivek Nayar, Vice President (Marketing) of Mahindra's auto sector, presented the keys of the new model to cricketer Robin Uthappa. Nayar claimed the competitively priced new-look SUV would keep up the market leader tag. "Bolero has been always responsive to customers needs rebuilding, refreshing, and rejuvenating. It is the number one SUV in India for three years in a row. So, it is right up there in terms of leadership. It is attractive and stylish at a very attractive price," Nayar said. Mahindra already exports the Scorpio and Bolero models to countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, and will begin exports to the United States in 2009. It aims to get a fifth of its revenue from exports in the next few years, up from about five per cent now. Uthappa said it was a privilege to launch the vehicle. "We (players) spend lot of time discussing cars and SUVs. When we get the honour and privilege of displaying such SUVs, it is really humbling and truly inspiring as well," Uthappa said. Mahindra's sales in December rose by one per cent to 15,316 units from 15,134 units sold in the same month a year earlier. Mahindra said domestic sales, including utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles and three-wheelers, fell two percent to 14,267 units from 14,559 units a year earlier. Exports rose to 1,049 units from 575 units. Mahindra said it sold 1,504 units of the Logan sedan, which it makes in a joint venture with France's Renault Mahindra also sold 6,962 tractors in December, up three per cent from 6,759 units a year earlier.
