Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik here Wednesday said that his Safar-e Azadi campaign provided Kashmiris a peaceful expression of sentiment.
Malik was speaking at the inaugural function of a photo exhibition of Safar-e-Azadi (Journey for freedom) at New Delhi.

On the occasion, the pro-freedom JKLF exhibited around 1000 photographs related to the campaign. The photographs besides showcasing the photos of the Safar-e-Azadi also displayed the whole range of activities done by the party workers until the end of the campaign.
A documentary film pertaining to the campaign was also screened during the exhibition.
Malik informed the visitors at the exhibition about the Safar-e-Azadi campaign.
He said that the bulk of participators in the Safar-e-Azadi campaign were womenfolk of the valley.
The popular pro-freedom leader, Malik stressed that the Kashmiris want to have a “main party status” to the Kashmir dispute and added that New Delhi and Islamabad should respect the sentiments of the people of Kashmir.
“The Safar-e Azadi campaign has provided people a chance to peacefully express their feelings and emotions. This exhibition is an effort to let the world know about the democratic and peaceful demonstration of Kashmiris,” Malik said.
“The world should not overlook this democratic approach of Kashmiris. The Kashmir solution must be solved through dialogue. If it does not happens, the end results of this would have lethal affects beyond imagination,” he warned.
The ambassadors of various countries like the United States, Pakistan and many other European countries besides Intellectuals, senior journalists, teaching faculty, Supreme Court lawyers, students and Kashmiris based in Delhi attended the exhibition.
Ghandian scholar Nirmala Desh Pandey; former foreign secretary Salman Haider; secretary to former prime minister Indira Ghandhi, P N Dhar; senior politician Sitaram Yechury; senior journalist Prem Shankar Jha, senior human rights activist Tapan Bose; S A R Geelani and chairman of one of the factions of People Conference, Sajad Gani Lone were among the noted personalities who attended the function.
