Kate Moss' beau wanted to be just like the supermodel's famous ex-lover Johnny Depp, reveals an old pal.

Novelist Sian Jeffreys, who once lived with Jamie Hince in a south London squat in the late 80s, makes the revelation in her book 'Next To Ness'.

Jeffreys said that Hince was a struggling musician when he decided he wanted to be just like Depp.

In her book, she recalls how he talked of his acting ambitions.

"Johnny Depp, that's who I'm gonna be," Mirror quoted her, as stating in her book.

Moss dated Depp for three years in the 90s.

She started seeing Hince, guitarist with 'The Kills', last year after splitting from singer Pete Doherty. (ANI)
