The music of the much awaited Bollywood film "Singh is Kinng" starring Akshay Kumar was released amid much fanfare in Mumbai on Thursday.

It was released by the Bollywood super star Salman Khan.

Bollywood glitterati present during the occasion included superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Anand Raj Anand, British pop sensation Hard Kaur and members of Pakistani band 'Azal'.

The film is produced by Vipul Shah and directed by Anees Bazmee - the director known for making movies like Dum, Hulchul, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Deewangee, No Entry and Welcome. His film Welcome which was released last year did reasonably well at the box-office.

The film stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia, Javed Jaffrey, Ranvir Shorey, Om Puri and model turned actor Sudhanshu Pandey.

Producer Vipul Shah while interacting with the media said that good response to the film has encouraged every one to put his heart and soul into this film.

"Today is a big day for us as the music of our film is being released and we did not expect such a good response, so all of us are very excited and very charged. This encourages us to work harder and to make a better picture," said Vipul.

Singh is Kinng, is a romantic comedy, which revolves around a gang of crooks transformed by a good man and his selfless love for a pretty girl.

Actor Akshay Kumar besides acting in the film has also lent his voice for one of its songs. Other singers include Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shreya Ghosal and Hard Kaur to name a few.

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia present at the occasion spoke at length about her character in the movie.

"The name of my character in this film is Julie, this takes me back to a film which I did long time back. But if you talk about the character which I play in it is of a girl who wants to become an actress in the film and whether she becomes or not lets see in the film," said Neha.

It was her faith in the director Anees Bazmee that made Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif sign this movie.

"I don't take that kind of pressure it's been a special film. Anees narrated me the script he is a fantastic director. He has got a great sense of cinema and I trust his judgement," said Katrina.

The film is slated for an August 8 release. (ANI)
