Holmes will be making her Broadway debut in August this year, but once she is finished with that, she and Cruise will get down to the business of making babies.
The couple are hoping that Katie will fall pregnant later this summer, meaning that their baby will be born in April 2009.
A source tells Britain's New! magazine that they have adjusted their work schedules in accordance with the plan.
"Katie is in peak condition, and she's still under 30, so doctors are happy that she can continue with work for the first three months," Showbiz Spy quoted the source, as saying.
The source also revealed that Katie is putting on weight in preparation for the pregnancy, and that she will be taking a break after her Broadway run to have the baby.
"She likes being curvy and Tom is also very happy with her womanly figure!"
"She loves the idea of a Broadway production rather than a big blockbuster to prove her worth as an actress.
"However, after a three month run, she'll be content to hang up her boots for another year and consider more roles after her baby -- or babies -- are born." (ANI)
