Washington, May 21 : Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal has been roped in to play the lead role in 'Prince of Persia', a computer game inspired flick to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

The 'Day After Tomorrow' star will be playing Dastan, a prince in sixth-century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
"He's a wonderful actor. He's someone I've been watching for a long time and somebody I've always wanted to work with," Variety quoted Bruckheimer, as saying.
'Quantum of the Solace' star Gemma Arterton will be seen playing the female lead.
