In a piece entitled 'Staying to Help in Iraq ', which is printed in the Washington Post newspaper, the 'Tomb Raider' star has called for increased financial aid to help the four million people driven from their homes in the war-torn region.
The 32-year-old has called on the US and the international community to act before the humanitarian crisis of displacement turns into violent upheaval.
"It seems to me that now is the moment to address the humanitarian side of this situation," Contactmusic quoted her, as stating in the article.
"Without the right support, we could miss an opportunity to do some of the good we always stated we intended to do.
