Customers at strip club in Texas will have to carry extra 5 dollars when they go to the place next time, for a new law intended to tax strip clubs has been introduced.
The surcharge, which is supported by women's rights campaigners, is intended to aid sex-crime prevention programs and rape crisis centres, reports theage.com.au.
The new law comes into effect from Jan 1 and is expected to raise an estimated 40 million dollars each year from those paying for lap-dancers and pole dancers.
However, the surcharge has sparked opposition from patrons, club owners and dancers, who claim the tax will drive away customers.
