Nevada (USA), Feb.5 : Rajan Zed, prominent Hindu chaplain and Indo-American leader, has been selected as one of the panelists for "On Faith", a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced jointly by Newsweek and washingtonpost.com.

Rajan Zed, prominent Hindu chaplain and Indo-American leader, has been selected as one of the panelists for "On Faith", a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced jointly by Newsweek and washingtonpost.com.

Moderated by Jon Meacham, Managing Editor of Newsweek, it is described as "...intelligent, informed, eclectic, respectful conversation...drawing on a remarkable panel of distinguished figures from the academy, the faith traditions, and journalism..."

Besides Zed, other panelists include Desmond Tutu and Elie Wiesel, both Nobel Peace Prize winners; Mohammad Khatami, former President of Iran; Julia Neuberger, UK House of Lords member; best selling authors Karen Armstrong and Sam Harris; Leith Anderson, President of National Association of Evangelicals; Charles Colson, Founder of Prison Fellowship Ministry; Diana Eck, Director of Pluralism Project of Harvard University; Bob Edgar, President of Common Cause; Albert Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; etc.

Rajan Zed has recited groundbreaking first Hindu opening prayers in United States Senate in Washington DC, California State Senate, Nevada State Senate, New Mexico State Senate, Colorado State Senate, and Nevada Assembly in the last few months and he will read historic first Hindu prayers in the State Senates of Utah, Washington, and Arizona in the next few weeks.

Both Newsweek and The Washington Post are leading American publications. Newsweek (weekly from New York, launched in 1933), with a circulation of over four million, has four English and 12 global editions including in Japanese, Russian, Spanish, etc. Sunday edition of The Washington Post (daily from Washington DC, launched in 1877) has a circulation of about 930,000.
